As we all know, dermatology is the branch of medicine concerned with the structure, functions and diseases of skin, hair and nails. Oral medicine, however, is the branch of dentistry concerned with the diagnosis and management of chronic and recurrent medically related disorders of the mouth, face and jaws. It involves the diagnosis and non-surgical management of those patients and, broadly speaking, is the specialty that interfaces between medicine and dentistry.
