Primary Care Dermatology Society

Now, more than ever, Primary Care needs support with dealing with skin conditions closer to home. Medicine has a litany of aphorisms such as ‘diseases do not read textbooks’; diseases certainly do not respect what else is happening in the world as referrals for two-week wait clinics soar relentlessly. Services are slowly returning back to some degree of normal but non-cancer routine waiting lists – and worse, follow-up appointments – are increasing. We all know many referrals are anything but routine and patients are suffering with their dermatoses. Education is the raison d’etre of the PCDS; we have been working hard on getting our educational programmes back up and running to help provide education and guidance to our Primary Care colleagues.
