Glimmering of the gizzard and other hazards

Fake doctors and quacks are nothing new. When the Royal College of Physicians was founded by King Henry VIII over five hundred years ago, the College charter of 1518 explained the need for the ‘credulous populace’ to be protected from exploitation by ‘knavish men’ and to ensure that they could know who really was a physician.
