Cutaneous leishmaniasis: clinical presentation and management

 

Leishmaniasis is a parasitic infection with wide-ranging presentations, from a relatively innocuous cutaneous ulcer to a potentially life-threatening illness. The WHO warns that due to environmental changes and increasing human travel, leishmaniasis now poses a global and much neglected threat.This article provides a review of Leishmania, including clinical presentation, differential diagnoses, investigations and treatments.
