Acne vulgaris, a chronic inflammatory disease, is common among all Fitzpatrick skin phototypes. Given the 61% increase in the UK’s non-white population between 2001 and 20111, there is an emerging recognition for clinicians to be able to tailor care and have an awareness of nuances and concerns of these patients with skin of colour (SOC) (Fitzpatrick skin types IV-VI).
